Sun, December 28,2008:
This is one of the most comfortable stability shoes I run in. Not too soft, not to hard, good fit in the heel, wide toe-box. My other pairs are Adidas Adistar Control 5 and Brooks Trance 8. 5'6", 163 lbs., avg. 25 mi./week. I never ran in NB 1223 so have no comparison, but I don't think this is ...

Fri, December 26,2008:
I have been running in 1223s for a year; 10-15 miles per week. I was looking for something a little softer after the 1223s wore out. The 1224s feel firmer and don't cushion as much as the 1223. They seem to flex less than the 1223's too. I ran in them for about 2 miles and didn't like how they f...

Fri, December 26,2008:
I love NB for catering to my wide feet, but the 1224's always seemed to hurt the tops of my feet during and after long runs. I found myself keeping the laces really lose. With a little cushioning under the tongue it would be a great shoe.

Nothing compared to the 1223's. The fit was hard and not near as comfortable as the 1223's. Also, after running 6 miles I developed a blister.

I am a big guy (6ft 270lbs) and I am in the Military so I have to run....I have always used the 1222...I loved them so much I bought 4 pairs before they discontinued them. I just bought the 1224 and there is no cushion...I am getting shin splints bad....I wrote New Balance and I am switching for the...

After the 1223 was discontinued I was dreading the update, but this is a decent shoe. I liked the the cushioning of the 1223 more, but this is definitely adequate in that regard. I will be buying this shoe again after I run out of my 1223's.

Tue, October 07,2008:
I had to send these back. Previously the 991 and 1222 worked well for me. But just as with the 992 replacement for the 991, the 1224 is much different than the 1222. As a previous review said, not enough cushioning in the forefoot for me. I'm at 185 lbs. Calves and hamstrings killing me, never happe...

Awesome shoe. Very supportive, lightweight and good cushioning underfoot. Doesn't feel clunky in the heel like some other high end stability shoes.

Sat, September 27,2008:
Ran a half mile before I had to turn around and head home and put my old pair of shoes on. Felt very stiff under forefoot and just killed my shins. Too cushy in the heel, not enough in forefoot. Also, not as stable as I would like. I couldn't take it. After I changed out of them, I ran another ...

Good cushioning. Sizing should be true to size. Only issue was that I got a cramp in my arch. I just replaced the insoles and all was well.

I'm 5'6", 208lbs. Yes, I know not quite the typical running type but I have 1 marathon under my belt. I've run 75+ miles on this shoe and love it. I use to run on Kayano-14 but these are far superior. Great heal cushioning. Ran 13 miles last weekend and felt very little of the sidewalk below me...

Mon, September 08,2008:
After trying every other stability +, I finally found the right shoe. Good balance of cushioning that is just right for a big guy (220) and stability for moderate overpronation. Not too soft and not too firm. Very smooth transition. The fit is secure in the midfoot without putting too much pressure ...

Better fit, heel cush is less mushy, midfoot fit is secure and very comfortable. Smooth comfortable ride which I find better than the kayano plus it's lighter, great shoe!

Sat, August 30,2008:
I've worn the NB 1222 (pretty good), the 1223 (great). But I'd just did a 10K run in my 1224 and they're AWESOME. I have 3-pairs of he 1223 I liked them so much, and was sceptical of the new 1224. It has an excellent fit, good stability and isn't quite as "mushy" feeling as the 1223. It also...
